About The Position

The Operations Manager at Walmart is responsible for initiating, directing, and participating in community outreach programs, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and providing supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates. This role involves hiring, training, mentoring, evaluating performance, and fostering a culture of belonging. The manager models exceptional customer service, resolves customer issues, and assists the store manager in driving the financial performance of the facility by achieving sales and profit goals, controlling expenses, and participating in budget forecasting. The position also involves coordinating job-related activities, building stakeholder relationships, identifying improvement opportunities, and promoting continuous learning. Requirements

  • 2 years’ of college; OR
  • 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR
  • 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports to include the responsibility of performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates, directs, and participates in community outreach programs by encouraging and supporting associates and managers in serving as good members of the community.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with key individuals or groups in the community.
  • Represents the company to various external organizations.
  • Champions company-sponsored programs, events, and sustainability efforts to associates, customers, and the local community.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures by holding hourly associates accountable.
  • Analyzes and interprets reports.
  • Implements and monitors asset protection and safety controls.
  • Maintains quality assurance standards.
  • Oversees safety and operational reviews.
  • Develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies.
  • Provides direction and guidance on executing company programs and strategic initiatives.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates in assigned area by hiring, training, mentoring, and actively listening to associates.
  • Assigns duties and evaluates performance.

  • Develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies in customer service.
  • Provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
  • Assists store manager in driving the financial performance of the Facility by ensuring that sales and profit goals are achieved.
  • Reviews and evaluates P&L (Profit Loss) statements.
  • Assists the management team in controlling expenses to ensure they are indexed to sales.
  • Develops and implements plans to correct any deficiencies in financial performance.
  • Participates in analyzing economic trends and community needs for budget forecasting.
  • Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Supports plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs.
  • Identifies and communicates goals and objectives.
