About The Position

Position Purpose: The Operations Manager at the Company plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and accurate management of warehouse functions, including the supervision of drivers, loaders, and warehouse staff. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of dispatch operations, inventory control, and customer service to facilitate prompt and precise delivery of products to job sites. By collaborating with the Branch Manager and maintaining strict adherence to safety and operational standards, the Operations Manager supports the seamless execution of branch operations, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction in alignment with the company's strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities: Direct and oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of building materials in alignment with corporate standards. Manage and coordinate the dispatching of trucks to guarantee timely and accurate deliveries to job sites, optimizing routes for safe and effective transportation by properly utilizing SRS routing technology Supervise the loading and unloading processes, ensuring prompt and precise handling of orders for vendors and customers, while maintaining inventory accuracy. Implement and manage comprehensive inventory control measures, including purchasing, weekly cycle counts, pricing strategies, and the evaluation of damaged or outdated stock, to optimize stock levels and reduce waste. Lead and conduct safety audits and meetings to ensure full compliance with company safety standards, fostering a secure and hazard-free work environment. Oversee the maintenance and operational readiness of all logistics equipment, including tractors, trailers, and forklifts, to ensure uninterrupted service delivery. Administer and track work hours for the drivers and warehouse staff to ensure proper task allocation and adherence to labor regulations. Collaborate with the Branch Manager to support overall branch operations, including order processing, end-of-day balancing, and facilitating continuous improvement initiatives across all functional areas. Direct Manager Direct Reports: The Operations Manager at the Company reports directly to the Branch Manager, collaborating closely on all branch operations to ensure alignment with organizational goals and standards. The Operations Manager has direct supervisory responsibility over the warehouse team, including drivers, loaders, and warehouse staff, offering leadership in daily operations and strategic oversight. This position also supports the indirect oversight of dispatchers, as required for efficient logistics and transport management. Travel Requirements: The Operations Manager at the Company is required to travel periodically within the local delivery area to ensure the efficient operation of warehouse functions, including overseeing truck dispatch, inventory control, and customer service engagements. Physical Requirements: The Operations Manager role at the Company entails a combination of standard office-based administrative tasks and warehouse-related responsibilities. This position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer. Additionally, the role involves physical activities such as assisting warehouse personnel in loading and unloading trucks, which includes the capacity to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds periodically. Responsibilities

  • Assist branch management in signing off on daily cash reconciliation, verifying bank deposit, and ensuring cash and checks received are deposited daily.
  • Determine facility and equipment needs and work with appropriate company staff to fill needs and ensure proper maintenance is performed. Responsible for managing inventory.
  • Promote a safety culture within the branch, ensuring policies and procedures are followed and reporting incidents in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain relationships with branch customers to ensure customer satisfaction and discover ways to partner in how SRS/Heritage can help to grow their business monitor customer needs through sufficient inventory levels.
  • Work with outside sales representatives to develop sales skills and meet sales objectives.
  • Maintain accurate and complete personnel records and supervise the correct reporting of time and work records to payroll department.
