About The Position

CDS Logistics & Home Services is seeking a dynamic professional to manage a logistics facility for a leading final mile logistics company. The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehousing, logistics operations, and personnel/contractor management for their respective operations location. This position will report directly to the Regional Operations Manager. The primary goal for this position is to ensure excellent operational standards are met while maintaining high customer satisfaction for business executed through the respective facility. Operations Manager: This role will focus on driving operational performance in the state to meet and exceed customer expectations through hands-on support and strong communication strategies. Successful applicant will be able to: Perform quality work within deadlines. Interact and communicate professionally with internal and external customer groups. Prioritize daily tasks in consideration of Organizational Strategic Goals. Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating efforts with your stakeholders.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the logistics industry; preferable experience includes 3PL or last mile logistics.
  • I have a minimum of 1-3 years’ management experience in logistics industry; preferable experience includes operations management, warehouse management or dispatch management in logistics industry.
  • Lean Management Certification of Yellow Belt or Higher.
  • Past personnel planning and management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and support your team to execute inbound and outbound demands for the facility, ensuring that all scheduled inbound and outbound products are executed daily in alignment with our customers’ expectations.
  • Provide leadership to all Customer Service team members.
  • Managing call center board to insure employees are logged into system to meet productivity needs.
  • Manage call log for each CSR, verify all voicemails are attended to in sufficient time.
  • Ensure that customer service department is assisting drivers, which includes but is not limited to: addressing with concerns and issues as they arise, calling of time frames, checking in trucks, locating paperwork for daily driver manifests, inbound and outbound calls for scheduling deliveries, resolving claims issues as they arise, etc.
  • Ensure that all customer SOP’s and service level expectations are being met by the Customer service team and assist wherever necessary.
  • Provide feedback and suggested process improvements for department and full operations whenever needed to manager.
  • Manage daily reports that are produced throughout the day assigning tasks to Customer Service Team Members.
  • Lead and provide support with the planning and routing of the Reading local fleet.
  • Manage and foster relationships with independent contract drivers and/or 3rd party service providers of independent contract drivers to support the outbound schedules daily. This includes, but is not limited to ensure proper auditing activity, executing dock master tasks, issue resolution for driver team throughout daily operations, creative problem solving when faced with a service failure to still meet customer expectations, etc. This will all be accomplished by utilizing and managing our CDS Driver Supervisor.
  • Create an environment where operational activities: drive operational performance improvements, meet customer expectations, meet compliance requirements, develop personnel, including suggesting and executing career development plans for all direct reports, creates a culture where operational excellence and safety are top priorities.
  • Work closely with Director of Operations and human resources department to execute against talent attraction, acquisition, development, and management goals.
  • Provide Penske Truck Lease Support
  • Execute timely data collection to maintain operational metrics, set and achieve performance targets, reduce operational costs, and eliminate operational errors.
  • Partner with key customer points of contact to facilitate relationship building and to provide optimal support levels around customer needs and expectations.
  • Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
  • Spearhead safety and compliance and lean management initiatives.
  • Provide inspired leadership for the organization.
  • Work with Director of Operations to assist in achieving financial goals for operations, specifically towards labor expenditures such as staff levels, wages, and labor hours against revenues.
  • Ability to interpret data into a reporting structure to drive operational efficiencies and lower damages.
  • Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are maintained for compliance.
  • All other duties as assigned.
