The Operations Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing daily hotel operations, ensuring excellent guest service, and maintaining compliance with company and brand standards. This role involves supervising staff, assisting with hiring and training, managing schedules, and supporting financial and operational procedures. The Operations Manager also acts as the General Manager in their absence.

  • Assign duties to staff and monitor performance to ensure adherence to hotel policies, procedures, and brand standards.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members to deliver exceptional guest service.
  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and completing new hire paperwork.
  • Support staff to ensure daily workloads are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Assist with scheduling, timecard management, and payroll preparation.
  • Conduct performance reviews and assist with personnel actions such as disciplinary measures and terminations.
  • Maintain accurate operational and financial records (e.g., cash flow sheets, direct bill accounts, credit card receipts, registration and reservation cards, tips, and gratuities).
  • Conduct or assist in department meetings to ensure communication and consistency across teams.
  • Resolve guest complaints and employee concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Provide shift coverage across all departments as needed.
  • Perform General Manager duties in their absence.
  • Ensure compliance with all franchise, brand, and company policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Previous hotel supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations, brand standards, and hospitality systems a plus.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
  • Hotel Management, General Business or Marketing degree preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Select-Service or Extended-Stay General Manager preferred.
  • Five plus years hotel or management experience preferred.
  • Three plus year’s food and beverage experience in a hotel preferred.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Lightspeed, ProfitSword, and MICROS experience strongly preferred.
