About The Position

The Operations Manager at Nufarm is responsible for leading the Chicago Heights facility's operations, ensuring safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. This role emphasizes health, safety, environmental leadership, and continuous improvement while fostering a productive and empowered workforce. The Operations Manager will align plant operations with business strategies and drive initiatives to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in a chemical agriculture manufacturing environment.
• Thorough understanding of batch processing and process manufacturing.
• Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) systems and OSHA regulations.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and technical skills.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in leading teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.

Responsibilities

• Lead and provide direction for the safe and reliable operation of the Chicago Heights facility.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental standards and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide leadership to the production team and support functions including Quality Assurance, Scheduling, and Maintenance.
• Develop metrics and management systems to enhance health, safety, and reliability.
• Facilitate personnel development and create an environment that supports continuous improvement.
• Participate in the North America Manufacturing Leadership Team to drive regional strategy and goals.
• Manage production activities to meet customer demands safely and cost-effectively.
• Conduct monthly financial analysis to ensure compliance with budgetary goals.
