About The Position

The Operations Manager at Owens & Minor is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the distribution center, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This role involves managing a team of supervisors and floor associates, maintaining safety, quality, and production goals, and acting as the main point of contact for the site. The Operations Manager will also be responsible for achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supply chain management and distribution metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5-10 years of warehouse/distribution management experience.
  • Stand-alone management experience is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and hands-on management style.
  • Budget development and management experience required.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and motivation skills.
  • Background in Lean methodology for continuous improvement.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily management of a fast-paced distribution center overseeing approximately 91 FTEs across shifts.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and production goals.
  • Achieve company established KPIs related to supply chain management and distribution metrics.
  • Report monthly key indicator results to corporate contacts as needed.
  • Assure inventory accuracy through physical inventories, cycle counting, and research of discrepancies.
  • Meet monthly freight budgets and manage logistics support and knowledge.
  • Determine staffing requirements, hire and terminate personnel, and implement training programs.
  • Resolve personnel issues and track payroll hours while setting directives and goals for staff.
  • Work closely with finance to review, approve, and code all invoices related to the facility.
  • Maintain facility and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
