About The Position

Amentum, a large government contractor, supporting the US government and military around the world, is seeking an Operations Manager to support a program in the Pax River, MD area. The Operations Manager will work directly for the Program Manager to oversee the planning and execution of all projects, closely collaborating with the customer to identify requirements and develop solutions. The role involves producing a comprehensive plan that captures the overall cost of each project and creating a schedule that maximizes the efficient use of external resources, internal labor, and contracted labor. The Operations Manager will be fully responsible for all aspects of each project, including system architecture development, equipment lists, procurement, material preparation, installation of various sensor systems, and end-user follow-up through project completion. The position also requires managing project managers, technicians, and sub-contractors to ensure successful project completion.

Requirements

  • Degree and experience in engineering, computer science, or other technical field.
  • Minimum of five years managing complex technical projects.
  • Minimum of three years managing projects related to installing sensor systems in remote overseas locations.
  • Experience in installing various sensor types and tower climbing, with certification as a competent climber.
  • Basic electrical understanding and experience running power to complex equipment from generator systems.
  • Experience working with overseas 240v power systems.
  • Experience in conducting site preparations for sensor installations.
  • Demonstrated project management skills to monitor and control costs and meet aggressive schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning and execution of all projects.
  • Work closely with the customer to identify requirements and develop solutions.
  • Produce a plan that captures the overall cost of each project.
  • Create a schedule that maximizes the efficient use of resources.
  • Manage all aspects of each project including system architecture development and equipment procurement.
  • Coordinate shipping, destination coordination for receiving and storage, and installation resources.
  • Conduct installations of sensor systems, including work on towers and buildings.
  • Manage project managers, technicians, and sub-contractors.
  • Perform duties as a trainer for sensor system installations and maintenance.

Benefits

  • Salary Range $105,000 to $120,000.00
