About The Position

Assists Plant Manager to manage, schedule, and monitor production performance to optimize quality and on-time delivery within budgeted cost structure, while supporting all areas of operations through the use of production resources. Ensure compliance with procedures and policies with industry regulatory and ISO requirements. Responsible for bidding and quoting production jobs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5-10 years of experience
  • Ability to effectively lead with little supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop, motivate, and influence people.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems.
  • Ability to assess situations and solve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee planning and scheduling of production activities to meet contractual delivery commitments.
  • Work in conjunction with the Plant Manager to develop and sustain an accurate means of forecasting and stat using production activities using tools such as Visual Manufacturing or other appropriate manufacturing software.
  • Work in conjunction with all support resources to define and plan activities required to support new products or processes such that they can be released to production in a timely fashion to achieve desired delivery.
  • Support objectives and communicate them to the entire organization in a manner which efficiently and effectively defines responsibilities.
  • Serve as the customer interface with responsibility for project support.
  • Identify and manage critical resources and eliminate capacity constraints by developing alternate means or additional capacity to achieve desired throughput.
  • Work through Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing to develop and certify approved sources for subcontracting peak capacity requirements.
  • Develop and justify capacity-driven expenditures.
  • Utilize scheduled backlog and associated labor hours to determine manning requirements.
  • Coordinate this information with Human Resources.
  • Integrate non-recurring activities, process requirements, process constraint information, and existing backlog to determine lead times supporting bidding and estimating as well as the establishment of delivery commitments for new orders.
  • Analyze prints, sketches, specifications, bill of materials, samples, and electronic models and collaborate with all facets of operations to determine workflow, cycle times, and tools or fixtures required.
  • Compile and review actual costs for comparison to prior quotes and for a basis for future quotes.
  • Communicate with all company disciplines to ensure coordination of quotes with corporate strategies.
  • Evaluate and implement process improvements.
  • Develop a set of quantifiable attributes (quality and delivery performance, lead time, etc.) which reflect progress or highlight areas of improvement.
  • Maintain information such that it is accurate, timely, and meaningful to the general production population.
  • Solicit input from the organization and develop a means to utilize constructive ideas for performance improvement.
