The Operations Management Trainee (OMT) position at Ryder is an 18-month structured training program designed to develop leadership and operational knowledge in the transportation and logistics industry. This role involves collaboration with various teams to enhance customer retention, operational excellence, and metrics. The program provides recent college graduates with the opportunity to gain insights into the business while utilizing problem-solving skills to make informed business decisions. With mentorship and support, trainees will be prepared for future career advancement within the company.

  • Responsible for customer relationship activities, ensuring quality customer interface and satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with the rental department to maximize utilization without compromising lease customers.
  • Partner with Sales staff on customer calls to enhance customer satisfaction and generate new business.
  • Manage running costs and maintenance overheads, ensuring adherence to policies and processes.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance, Asset Management, Sales, and Marketing to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee accurate PM scheduling, breakdowns, and vehicle status updates; manage Technician work planning.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • One (1) year or more customer service experience with issue resolution preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and highly organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Strong mechanical skills and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Strong PC knowledge, including advanced spreadsheet and word processing skills.
  • Basic understanding of Business Finance, controls, and metrics.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships at all organizational levels.
