About The Position

The Operations Manager - Trade Support at Royal Bank of Canada is responsible for leading a team that manages complex, time-sensitive processes within the Trade Support Team. This role involves hiring, onboarding, and training new team members, providing coaching and development, and ensuring high-quality customer service. The manager will oversee operations, implement process improvements, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements while fostering a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university or equivalent or High school diploma or equivalent AND 5+ years of securities, banking, technology and/or job specific industry experience.
  • 3+ years prior securities, banking, technology and/or job specific related industry experience.
  • Securities license 7 or 99 (or able to obtain license within 120 days).
  • 2+ years demonstrated managerial experience leading and managing a team.
  • Ability to effectively hire, train, lead and provide work direction to others.
  • Ability to understand and meet business daily support needs.
  • Ability to work effectively in situations involving rapid change and shifting priorities.
  • Advanced customer service skills.
  • Advanced problem identification, analytical and resolution skills.
  • Experience with brokerage systems.
  • Experience with change management and leading teams through change.
  • Fully proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Sound organizational knowledge with operational mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, onboard, and train new team members.
  • Supervise and direct complex daily workflows to meet service levels.
  • Provide training, coaching, and development for team members.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for department processes.
  • Liaise and provide customer service support for research and problem resolution.
  • Address escalated questions independently and seek assistance as needed.
  • Ensure employees understand RBC vision and support targeted behaviors.
  • Establish individual goals and drive performance management.
  • Accept and execute change while supporting employees through the process.
  • Conduct operations process oversight to ensure adherence to procedures and regulations.
  • Review exceptions to standard processing for compliance.
  • Provide support with department volume metrics and financial forecasts.
  • Suggest process changes to reduce risk and increase efficiencies.
  • Participate in business requirement development and UAT testing.
  • Develop and provide ongoing training support for team members.
  • Maintain department procedures and document modifications.
