About The Position

The Operations Manager at the Stuart C. Siegel Center is responsible for directing, supervising, and scheduling all aspects of operations, including engineering, building and grounds, technical services, event services, public safety, security, custodial services, and parking departments. This role coordinates operations activities with other building departments, the University, and show-related contractors, implementing facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. The Operations Manager anticipates problems and provides appropriate solutions, investigates and resolves operational issues, and ensures effective communication of directives to other departments. The position also oversees the maintenance of the physical plant and systems, ensuring facility readiness and smooth operation of events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from technical college with major in Management or Maintenance Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Supervising or Managing in a similar facility.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively supervise staff.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.
  • Some computer skills.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member.
  • Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Directs, supervises and schedules all aspects of operations.
  • Coordinates operations activities with other building departments, the University, and show-related contractors.
  • Implements facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Anticipates problems and provides appropriate solutions.
  • Investigates, analyzes, and resolves operational problems and complaints.
  • Provides clear, concise, and timely communication of directives to other departments.
  • Ensures that operations department receives pertinent information for effective use of the facility and staffing.
  • Assures facility readiness and smooth operation of events.
  • Oversees maintenance of the physical plant and systems.
  • Responsible for the Master MSDS log in the building.
  • Serves as Manager on Duty as required.
