About The Position

The Operations Manager for the School of Sciences and Humanities at Wentworth Institute of Technology is responsible for overseeing administrative and operational activities within the School. This role involves managing administrative teams, preparing and monitoring budgets, and ensuring effective communication and collaboration among faculty, staff, and students. The Operations Manager supports the Dean's office in achieving the School's goals and initiatives, while also engaging with various university constituents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-5 years of office or project management experience, preferably in higher education administration.
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong verbal, visual, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage administrative and operational activities within the School of Sciences and Humanities.
  • Attend regular meetings with Dean's Office staff.
  • Develop and communicate policies for smooth operations, including office management and inventory.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency through new technologies and training.
  • Maintain official records of faculty/staff meetings.
  • Administer SharePoint and Brightspace sites for shared files among faculty and staff.
  • Support scheduling classes by surveying faculty and reviewing student needs.
  • Manage internal communications to faculty and staff, including memos and email announcements.
  • Create and update informational brochures for student majors.
  • Manage promotional communications for events and monitor website and social media content.
  • Collaborate within Academic Affairs for cross-school initiatives and events.
  • Develop policies for reimbursements and monitor school budgets on WorkDay.
  • Plan and execute events for various audiences and maintain relationships with external partners.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise undergraduate office assistants.
  • Manage onboarding processes for faculty and staff.
  • Participate in School and Institution committees as assigned.
