About The Position

The Operations Manager at RiverBend Materials is responsible for overseeing production and maintenance operations across multiple sites, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable plant operations. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a construction or building materials environment and 3-5 years of business, plant, or operations management experience, or 8-10 years of business, plant, or operations management experience.
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience with leadership skills to guide and motivate a diverse team.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work safely and cost-effectively, with an understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Exceptional customer service skills for both internal and external customers.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Basic PC & Microsoft 365 knowledge with the ability to learn different software applications.
  • Willingness to travel to various site locations and work extended hours, nights, and weekends when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee production and maintenance operations for multiple sites including sand & gravel pits, quarries, and ready-mix plants.
  • Drive engagement and support for all safety and environmental compliance programs.
  • Provide guidance and management to department managers, superintendents, and forepersons.
  • Promote a safe work environment for all employees and minimize risk.
  • Manage daily operations including production, quality, and customer focus.
  • Generate and manage the operating budget for the fiscal year under the direction of the General Manager.
  • Build effective teams and develop direct reports for future opportunities.
  • Monitor and control production to ensure safety, schedule adherence, and budget compliance.
  • Provide leadership in sales and marketing efforts to maximize product sales and profitability.
  • Communicate professionally and clearly to all levels of employees.
