The Operations Manager is responsible for all production departments within the plant. They must ensure the attainment of the operational goals in the production area. They manage all production operations and ensure compliance with all relevant policies of the area, including production, inspection, quality, storage, maintenance, environment, safety, resources, and security. Responsible for, in close cooperation with the Site Manager, defining goals, improving technology, resolving problems, meeting production schedules, shipping schedules, maintaining quality, controlling manufacturing costs, implementing continuous improvement, and promoting good employee and community relations within their area. Develop operation-related plans, budgets, and policies and procedures. The facility in Landisville, PA, is an ITAR site.

  • Set and clarify requirements and expectations for direct and matrixed reports based on the strategic direction and needs of the business.
  • Plan, direct, and monitor production activities to maximize the use of organizational resources to meet or exceed established targets for Safety, TEOA (LEAN), COE, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Employee Engagement, and Talent Development.
  • Drive the creation and deployment of Continuous Improvement initiatives which enable functional areas and the site to meet or exceed its Operating plan.
  • Develop action plans and make operational decisions on policies, tactics, and resources critical to the site's operational success.
  • Deliver an extraordinary customer experience by understanding the customer's demand and planning materials and production accordingly.
  • Contribute to the Sales and Operations Planning Process (S&OP) on the local level.
  • Partner with support staff and matrixed reports to ensure the support and resources provided align with the needs of the operation.
  • Measure performance (results and behaviors) while providing timely performance feedback and coaching.
  • Drive strategic workforce planning and successful talent development strategies aligned to business needs.
  • Conduct daily audits of the manufacturing processes to ensure all safety, quality, and process standards are being followed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Technology preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working with a manufacturing organization with proven success in process improvement/optimization.
  • Good working knowledge of MRP/ERP planning and execution concepts.
  • TS16949, ISO 14001 Audit experience.
  • Knowledge of Operations Management and contemporary manufacturing/quality methods and systems.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control.
  • Supervisor experience required.
  • General knowledge of financial terms and concepts.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, TPS, or DMAIC experience is strongly desired.
  • Strong business acumen and excellent time management skills.
