This position is located in USA VA Arlington, hybrid working model acceptable. Active TS/SCI required, active TS/SCI with Poly highly desired. The Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of an organization's IT department, ensuring efficient and reliable IT services. This role involves managing IT staff, implementing and maintaining IT systems, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. CGI Federal is growing its high-performance team whose members share a passion for building high-quality, scalable, advanced IT solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced, outcome-driven mission.

Requirements

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree and/or 3 to 5 years of experience
  • Active TS/SCI required, active TS/SCI with Poly highly desired.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience in IT operations, project management, and budget management.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, networking, and security.
  • Experience in a management role (typically 3+ years).

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of ITIL framework (optional).

Responsibilities

  • Team Management: o Leading and mentoring IT staff, including technicians, engineers, and support personnel.
  • Assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing feedback.
  • Managing the hiring process and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Infrastructure Management: o Overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure (servers, networks, data centers).
  • Ensuring system availability, reliability, and security.
  • Managing hardware and software installations, upgrades, and configurations.
  • System Monitoring and Maintenance: o Monitoring system performance and proactively addressing issues.
  • Managing incidents, service requests, and problem resolution.
  • Ensuring data backup, security, and compliance with policies.
  • Budget and Vendor Management: o Managing the IT budget and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborating with vendors for procurement, implementation, and support.
  • Negotiating contracts and managing licenses.
  • Policy and Compliance: o Developing and implementing IT policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Other Responsibilities: o Working with other departments to align IT with business needs.
  • Developing and implementing IT initiatives and projects.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends.
  • Providing support and guidance to stakeholders.
