About The Position

As an Operations Manager Intern at Target's Regional Distribution Center in Shafter, CA, you will embark on a hands-on training program designed to develop your skills in operations leadership. Throughout the internship, you will be engaged in various activities that will help you learn how to lead, motivate, and influence a team. You will have the chance to lead a department, support daily operations, and ensure that safety and productivity are prioritized. Your responsibilities will include problem-solving, conducting real-time observations, and driving results while maintaining a high standard of quality and inventory accuracy. You will also be involved in process improvement initiatives, leveraging methodologies such as Gemba and Fish Bone Analysis to create a lean, defect-free operation. The program emphasizes personal development, and you will have ongoing developmental conversations with your Mentor and Manager. You will learn to track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as safety, teamwork, quality, and productivity, and you will be responsible for addressing team member concerns and operational hurdles.
