Overview Establish and execute company strategy for domestic and international freight movements, leveraging industry trends and best practices. Recruit, develop, and motivate staff to deliver a world-class customer experience and consistently meet or exceed client expectations. Ensure the station has the necessary tools, resources, and systems to succeed and sustainably grow international product lines. Collaborate with current and prospective logistics service providers and internal AIT departments to develop the most effective operational strategies. Implement strategic plans by establishing, measuring, and managing key performance metrics with service providers, vendors, and internal AIT teams. Oversee the timely, accurate, and efficient flow of products throughout the network.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, preferred.
  • 7-10 years of international freight forwarding, airfreight and ocean freight, preferred.
  • P&L experience, preferred.
  • 1-3 years of operations supervisory experience and managing a team, required.
  • Previous experience in a diversified freight forwarding industry, preferred.
  • Procurement skills; Operational and P&L management of global products and services in a high performance organization.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral with the ability to communicate to employees, manager and upper management levels

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the station's operations strategy of AIT for enhancing the customer experience and maximize station performance.
  • Ensure processes and metrics are in place to ensure growth, service and profitability goals are accomplished with the operations environment as well as other station departments.
  • Manage and communicate with AIT’s carriers insuring best value and service vs objectives.
  • Ensures providers meet and adhere to their service commitments and agreed terms of service.
  • Exhibits strong negotiating skills and execution in service provider Agreements including ad hoc and spot rates.
  • Ability to track performance and develop strategic processes and proactively improve efficiencies and reduce lead time lanes.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring employees in a broad global environment.
  • Actively support key account operations requirements and insure service execution and reliability.
  • Continue to build rapport with clients and work to develop new opportunities and create and manage key visual tools and tracking processes.
  • All other job duties as assigned
