About The Position

As the Operations Manager at IHG Army Hotel Candlewood Suites on Ft. Riley, KS, you will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day activities of hotel operations to ensure guest satisfaction and maximize hotel profitability. In the absence of the General Manager, you will serve as the acting General Manager, overseeing the daily operations and assignments of the hotel staff. Your responsibilities will include assisting the General Manager in developing and communicating departmental strategies and goals, as well as enforcing policies and procedures to maintain operational efficiency. You will be responsible for recommending or initiating salary, disciplinary, or other staffing-related actions in accordance with company rules and policies, while also alerting the General Manager of any potentially serious issues. Ensuring that all staff are properly trained and equipped to perform their job functions effectively is a key aspect of your role. You will assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of financial and operational plans that align with the overall objectives of the company. Your management duties will encompass various areas, including front office operations, revenue management, and reservation functions, ensuring the delivery of superior guest services and the security of financial transactions. You will also oversee food and beverage operations, housekeeping, and maintenance functions to ensure compliance with quality and brand standards. Establishing and implementing procedures for routine inspections of guest rooms and public areas will be essential to maintain cleanliness and good repair of the hotel facilities. Fostering positive employee relations, reconciling time edits, and managing payroll administration in compliance with wage and hour regulations will be part of your responsibilities. You will also ensure that the guest convenience store is well-stocked and maintained, monitor inventory, and control labor costs and other expenses. Establishing service recovery guidelines to ensure complete guest satisfaction and responding to guest complaints in a professional manner will be critical to your success in this role. Additionally, you will interact with various external contacts, including guests, owners, vendors, and regulatory agencies, to ensure operational compliance and address any performance issues. Your role will also involve making recommendations for capital improvements to enhance the hotel’s assets and brand loyalty, promoting teamwork and quality service through effective communication and coordination with other departments.
