About The Position

The Operations Manager assists with the direction of all activities at a single Branch location. This includes performing all daily tasks needed to ensure a safety-first culture, expenses are controlled and a high standard of operational excellence is routinely achieved. Additionally, this role will manage the Branch in the absence of the Branch Manager.

Requirements

  • Strong technical aptitude and understanding of construction equipment and the rental industry.
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with an emphasis in Excel and Outlook, and the use of computer applications.
  • Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Great attention to detail and solid organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of personnel within the organization and customer operations.
  • Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
  • Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to interpret extensive technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and understand several abstract variables.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

Nice To Haves

  • High school/equivalent diploma or trade school diploma preferred.
  • Three to five years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience preferred.
  • One to three years of retail or store management experience.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS).
  • Promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission.
  • Supports the successful management of branch operations and personnel.
  • Ensures ongoing compliance with all statutory DOT and safety requirements.
  • Performs dispatching duties (if needed) and inspects Branch yard daily.
  • Supports the Branch Manager with the implementation of actions that achieve financial objectives.
  • Assists the Branch Manager in ensuring compliance with all company policies.
  • Responsible for performance management of staff, Inside Sales Reps, Drivers, and other staff as applicable.
  • Motivates, coaches, and successfully trains personnel.
  • Promotes a culture of safety and discipline through leadership, exemplary personal compliance, accountability, and communication.
  • Maintains an open line of communication with the Branch Manager and Service Manager, making them aware of all equipment not available for rent.
  • Oversees team goals, making sure they are met/exceeded and compliance with company standards is kept through daily management.
  • Fosters a customer-focused approach to branch operations while ensuring the Branch Yard, facility, and staff are professional and presentable.
  • Driven and results-oriented; business development and KPIs to meet corporate targets.
  • Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
