About The Position

This is a professional managerial position working to ensure coordination and efficiency in providing access to public health informatics and health statistics that support program planning and evaluation. Work includes planning, consulting, and providing data-driven solutions to operational and management problems. This position spends the majority of the time engaged in supervisory responsibilities. This includes communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees in addition to planning and directing employees' work. The incumbent has the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action. The incumbent will also be required to develop performance expectations, meet with staff regularly to discuss performance, complete performance reviews, maintain vacation and work schedules, ensuring proper coverage, and complete timesheets. Provides oversight and assistance to public health programs to assure capacity for program monitoring and evaluation. Presents solutions that expand access to statewide Public Health data. Maintains responsibility for supporting the related underlying systems and processes. Responsible for maintaining the security of information and protect confidentiality consistent with state and federal laws and rules and departmental policies, protocols, and procedures. Serves as a delegated data custodian for HMC service records, centralized HMS reports and contract management information. Complies with and monitors compliance (when applicable) of the mandatory requirements of Section 215.422, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 3A-24, Florida Administrative Code.” Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proficient computer skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Knowledge of monitoring processes and/or working with ticketing software

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in creating, maintaining, and interpreting reports; data analysis; developing interactive dashboards and visualizations from various data sources; working with relational databases; writing SQL queries and stored procedures; utilizing database ETL utilities for reporting and analysis purposes
  • Two (2) years of professional experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, satisfactorily complete a background investigation, fingerprinting, and participation in direct deposit are requirements for employment.
