About The Position

G2 Secure Staff is seeking an Operations Manager for Airline Operations at Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW). This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, managing staff, scheduling, and reporting to clients. The position requires strong supervisory skills and experience in a shift work environment, particularly in military police, law enforcement supervision, or industrial security.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Supervisory/management experience in a shift work environment
  • At least three years of previous experience in military police, law enforcement supervision, or industrial security
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Reliable telephone and transportation
  • Ability to read, understand, and carry out instructions in English
  • Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification badge
  • Must be a citizen of the United States or possess necessary authorization from the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure implementation of the Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Implement safety plan for the station
  • Maintain Quality Assurance oversight for operational issues relating to performance and safety
  • Participate actively in the Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Perform all duties of subordinate employees when necessary
  • Familiarize with all pertinent regulations (Company/Client/Government Agencies)
  • Schedule personnel daily and furnish a copy to the Department Manager
  • Monitor employee activity and make adjustments as needed
  • Ensure employees follow all regulations/procedures
  • Check In/Out sheets to ensure all employees have logged in times correctly
  • Communicate effectively with fellow employees and client representatives
  • Make recommendations to the Department Manager regarding personnel performance
  • Communicate safety hazards and equipment problems to Department Manager or General Manager
  • Ensure state licenses and training records are current
  • Be on call 24 hours per day
  • Report inquiries and other major incidents to Department Managers
  • Respond to inquiries from clients, staff, and passengers in a courteous manner
  • Maintain cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needs
  • Project a positive image and respond to inquiries from clients, staff, and public in a courteous manner
  • Attend meetings and in-services as required
  • Utilize appropriate communications channels and maintain records, reports, and files as required
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achievement of company objectives
  • Utilize company and client equipment, supplies, and resources in a conscientious, cost-effective manner
  • Perform quality assurance service audits as directed to conform to client's specifications and/or procedures
  • Comply with all safety requirements and ensure employees are following all safety requirements through conducting safety briefings and observations.
