About The Position

The Operations Manager at Penske Logistics is responsible for leading warehouse staff to ensure customer requirements are met while achieving company goals. This role involves managing a team in a dynamic operational environment, developing forward-looking plans, and executing them successfully. The Operations Manager will also focus on maintaining a culture of safety, managing financial resources effectively, and driving continuous improvement in operations.

Requirements

  • 4 - 6 years of related functional experience.
  • 3+ years of managerial or supervisory experience in warehouse distribution center management.
  • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint required.
  • Ability to connect and build rapport with associates and external customers.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with follow-up and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage through problems and make independent decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute annual financial operating plans.
  • Ability to drive process improvement and lead change.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead teams in a dynamic operational environment to exceed established goals.
  • Develop forward-looking plans and execute them successfully.
  • Manage resources to achieve operational excellence and meet financial operating plans.
  • Implement and maintain an incident-free safety culture at the operation.
  • Establish and sustain training and competency for all supervisors and associates.
  • Ensure effective two-way communication that informs and motivates team members.
  • Meet or exceed all customer key performance metrics and objectives.
  • Interact daily with local customers to understand their needs.
  • Identify operational improvements in inventory accuracy and warehouse operations.
  • Collaborate with other Penske sites to share best practices and leverage resources.
  • Develop and execute annual financial and operating plans.
  • Identify issues with operating metrics and P&L and make timely adjustments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate customer billings and associate payroll preparation.
  • Lead a culture of safety through personal example and continuous improvement plans.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and challenge the status quo.
  • Lead efforts to improve fleet/equipment utilization and maintenance availability.
