About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to exercise supervisory and managerial authorities over the Operations Section of the 17th Force Support Squadron (FSS), which includes responsibility for planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees involved in unit Training, Readiness, and Plans.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Males must be registered for Selective Service
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security clearance.
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings and weekends and may be subject to recall.
  • This is a Mission Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to management in planning, organizing, and overseeing the activities of the Force Support Squadron (FSS) with direct oversight of unit training, readiness, and plans functions and commanders support staff.
  • Represents the Force Support Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations; establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other base organizations, senior leadership, representatives from other military services, Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, and other related civilian organizations regarding services provided.
  • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities; advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
  • Selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details and reassignments in consideration of skills and qualifications, mission requirements, and EEO and diversity objectives.
  • Establishes, defines, and implements requirements for Operations programs to ensure services and functions are in line with organizational goals and mission requirements.
  • Develops, monitors, and analyzes applicable statistical data to track operating programs, evaluate their effectiveness and applicability to strategic goals, and plan improvements.
