About The Position

The Prattville Mill is currently seeking a Finished Products Operations Maintenance Coordinator. The Prattville Mill is a complex, fully integrated pulp and paper manufacturing facility with two machines. The mill includes multiple process lines of wood handling, pulping, power and recovery, and effluent treatment. The position works within the Finished Products group and reports to the Area Process Manager. The Finished Products Operations Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and direction of field day and outage activities for the paper machines in a manner that delivers targeted results in the areas of safety, environmental, reliability, quality, productivity, cost, and employee engagement. Requirements

  • This position requires a B.S. Degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience in pulp and paper - preferred.
  • The candidate should have demonstrated leadership skills, technical knowledge in operations and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for safe work execution
  • The overall functionality of the manufacturing Work System (MWS) program and directly accountable for its success as the team leader
  • Conducting the daily MWS meetings and ensuring the agenda is strictly followed
  • Scheduling the proper work to ensure process reliability
  • Communicate the daily and weekly maintenance plan including the prep and process plan to execute
  • Provide feedback and approval on work completion satisfaction
  • System shutdown, isolation, and preparation for maintenance work
  • Creation of System Zero Energy State (ZES) and Group Lockout/Tagouts (LOTO)
  • Work permitting (hot work, confined space entry, line breaking, etc.)
  • Work with maintenance supervisors to determine break-in work and overtime needs
  • Manage the when down do list
  • Be a steward of predictive and precision maintenance practices and programs
  • Daily reviews of new work notifications for the area ensuring that all notifications have been properly screened, identified and prioritized
  • Achieving MWS metrics such as % break in work, schedule adherence, precision maintenance completion, Reliability Recordables, etc.
  • Reviewing the complete area backlog weekly with the Maintenance supervisors to update priorities, purge the backlog of unneeded or completed work and develop a work schedule for the following week
  • Reviewing Operator Round Sheets and Basic Care Route Reports for issues, communicating with Operators for details and ensuring that a notification has been written
  • Coordinating Field Day activities, including MS Project timelines, work tracking, job progress and operational readiness
  • Coordinating Annual Outage activities, including MS Project timelines, work tracking, job progress and operational readiness
  • Schedule and conduct outage critique meetings; document, publish and post meeting notes
  • Achieving monthly budgeted spending, including annual outages and repair jobs
  • Ensuring a temporary OMC is always designated to perform all MWS duties when absent from the mill
  • Provide Area Manager coverage in his/her absence
