About The Position

The Site Operations Leader at Owens Corning is responsible for leading the site EHS, Tooling & Die, Maintenance, and Facilities function at the West Chicago Innovation Center - Doors Division. This onsite role supports the production, environmental, and safety needs of the site. The leader will have direct responsibility for 3 direct reports and approximately 15 - 20 team members. The Site Operations Leader is accountable for leading business change and continuous growth within the facility, managing and overseeing all plant operations to achieve and maintain the highest standards of safety, engagement, costs, productivity, efficiency, quality, and customer service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 8 - 10 years' progressive experience in manufacturing or a similar environment.
  • Direct people leadership experience required.

  • Previous experience in Tool and Die machining processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the site EHS, Tooling & Die, Maintenance and Facilities function at the West Chicago Innovation Center.
  • Build a culture where safety is a top priority and ensure employees are trained to perform their jobs safely.
  • Lead and support safety initiatives to drive towards zero recordable injuries.
  • Communicate Owens Corning's safety standards throughout the Operations Department.
  • Coach and support managers in developing individual competencies and managing talent.
  • Analyze organizational capabilities and implement design improvements to support business strategy.
  • Identify performance issues and implement people management solutions.
  • Ensure proper resource allocation, prioritization, budget, cost-optimization, and capital planning.
  • Establish operating plans for expansion efforts and implementation of new technology.
  • Support identification and qualification of new equipment and production technologies.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify business priorities and needs.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
  • Create a culture of accountability and develop leaders for succession planning.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective action for production deviations.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational efficiency.
