About The Position

The Operations Lead (OL) reports to the Operations Manager and supports store processes and an active selling culture by ensuring that all aspects are maintained to documented company standards designed to drive sales. The OL works on all operation processes, including opening, closing, training, and delegation of tasks, while always demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance. The OL’s responsibilities require enthusiasm for vigorous lifting, carrying, moving around the warehouse-format store, and stocking. The mission of the company is to enable everyone to make their house a home, with a vision to become the first-choice destination for home and holiday décor.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma/Equivalent.
  • Ability to pass a Background Check.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with excellent verbal, written, and comprehension skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and team lift 100 lbs. as well as to move merchandise around the warehouse-format store routinely.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, climb, and reach at times.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and within a team.
  • Strong attention to detail, e.g., standards, processes, marketing, etc.
  • Reliable and trustworthy role model for ethical and honest behavior. Does the right thing for the team member, the customer, and the company in all situations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all store opening, closing, and Front-End processes, ensuring accurate and timely execution and operational readiness, providing troubleshooting, conditioning, and housekeeping while ensuring building, assets, and team member security.
  • Coordinate directly with the Operations Manager to maximize staffing effectiveness that supports traffic, sales, and the customer experience, including compliance with Company timekeeping policies, meeting labor model standards, customer interaction standards, and business metrics.
  • Participate in Task Management by planning/executing the daily/weekly zone workload and assigning tasks to deliver on store, department, sales goals, guest engagement, etc., and ensure all tasks are completed in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Support the store team in the areas of customer satisfaction, inventory control/shrink, safety, loss prevention expense control, and customer experience so the store will operate effectively and profitably.
  • Drive productivity by training, coaching, planning, monitoring, and appraising results.
  • Leverage daily interactions and team huddles to communicate and teach/train topics that support the customer experience.
  • Participate in all freight processes for incoming freight and/or transitions.
  • Process freight, sort and stock products on shelves, including down stocking and end cap maintenance, while maintaining a neat, clean, and organized store.
  • Perform all other duties assigned based on business needs.
  • Maintain Open Availability (nights and weekends).
