About The Position

The Operations Intern will work directly with the General Manager and site leadership to gain hands-on exposure to all functional areas of plant operations. This internship is designed to provide a holistic view of how a manufacturing business operates, with opportunities to learn across departments including safety, engineering, scheduling, purchasing, shipping/receiving, and production. The intern will support real business initiatives, assist with cross-functional projects, and participate in a structured training program aimed at developing foundational operations and leadership skills. This role is ideal for a student interested in pursuing a career in operations, supply chain, or manufacturing leadership. HEXPOL Compounding Americas (HCA) is an essential early contributor to the global value chain responsible for the safety, quality, and performance of rubber compounding products and components used by original equipment manufacturers across a range of industries. Sectors served include automotive and transportation; building and construction; consumer and healthcare; oil and gas; industrial; energy, wire and cable; and rollers. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Strong interest in manufacturing operations and leadership
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A desire to learn and gain hands-on experience
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • A proactive, team-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the General Manager on day-to-day operational initiatives and priorities
  • Gaining exposure to multiple functional areas including: Safety and EHS processes Engineering and maintenance Production operations Scheduling and planning Inventory Management Purchasing and procurement Shipping and receiving
  • Supporting cross-functional projects that impact overall plant performance
  • Assisting with process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participating in a structured operations training program and skills matrix
  • Shadowing different departments to build a broad understanding of the business
  • Supporting production and operational activities as needed
  • Assisting with data collection, reporting, and analysis
  • Participating in customer visits and Quarterly Business Reviews to understand the customer-facing side of operations
  • Completing additional projects or tasks as assigned by site leadership
