About The Position

JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services. This is a 10-Week Project-Based Internship, where you’ll gain hands-on experience, work cross-functionally within local departments, branches, and other JAS offices around the globe. As an operations intern you will assimilate how international shipments and supporting data are planned, executed, managed, and monitored on various management levels. This opportunity offers regular engagement with a wide array of stakeholders, to help foster a deep understanding of global logistics operations. Providing exposure and job shadowing in various JAS Departments including, but not limited to: Air/Ocean Freight, Import/Exports, Customs Brokerage, Warehousing, and Sales. Providing a wholistic understanding of the logistics industry while gaining valuable insights into the decision-making processes and strategic approaches of a global supply chain leader. CANDIDATE GUIDANCE & SELECTION NOTICE: We strongly encourage all candidates to review all active internship postings and their attached project scope before applying. Each project scope is unique and tailored to the needs of the department and initiative it supports. We will only move forward with candidates whose experience and qualifications closely align with the specific project scope for each internship position. This ensures that selected candidates can effectively contribute to the success of the assigned project while also supporting the intern’s own professional development and alignment with their field of study or degree path. What to Expect This internship is designed to provide you with a comprehensive view of the logistics industry, with all work conducted in a professional, climate-controlled office environment. You’ll engage in learning, shadowing, and project work that culminates in a capstone presentation to JAS leadership. Set your course with JAS Worldwide, where your curiosity and innovation will help shape the future of global logistics. Project Scope - Warehouse Workflow Mapping & Operational Improvement This internship project offers a full operational study of our warehouse and cross‑dock environment. The selected intern will trace freight through its entire lifecycle—from truck arrival, unloading, scanning, staging, and build‑up to final departure—to document current workflows and identify areas for improvement. As part of this analysis, the intern will assess staging practices, warehouse layout, and dock‑door utilization to better understand how space, equipment, and labor affect overall freight movement. The project also includes reviewing key support processes such as damage reporting, photo documentation standards, and system milestone accuracy (including C1, X1, and Pharma workflows). By gathering data on dwell time, repeated handling, congestion points, and dock activity, the intern will develop dashboards, SOPs/desk references, and process enhancement recommendations. The final deliverables will provide a clear, data‑driven picture of operational bottlenecks along with practical solutions to increase efficiency, improve visibility, reduce unnecessary touches, and strengthen service quality—while also creating documentation that can be used for future employee training.
