Calumet is seeking an experienced Operations Integrity & Performance Director to spearhead strategic initiatives that enhance safety, sustainability, and operational discipline. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on building capability, closing performance gaps, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 15+ years in refining or petrochemical operations, including 5+ years in operations leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of refining processes, HSE and process safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with turnaround planning, refining economics, and operational excellence frameworks (OEMS, Lean Six Sigma).
  • Proven ability to lead transformation initiatives and leverage digital tools and analytics.
  • Strategic leadership and change management.
  • Advanced operational risk management expertise.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to influence without authority and build cross-functional alignment.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement operational discipline strategies aligned with corporate goals.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to improve production efficiency, asset reliability, and safety performance.
  • Mentor site operations leaders and build organizational capability through training and education.
  • Champion a culture of vigilance, risk awareness, and continuous improvement.
  • Support compliance with safety regulations and internal standards; guide teams in mitigating high-consequence risks.
  • Drive initiatives to reduce downtime, optimize energy usage, and improve throughput.
  • Provide leadership for turnaround planning and execution to minimize disruption and maximize value.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, HSE, and commercial teams to align initiatives.
  • Communicate progress and impact of operational excellence programs to executive leadership.
