About The Position

The Operations Engineering Manager will manage and lead the Continuous Improvement Framework strategy, planning, and execution across the F35 Fab and Assembly. This role involves managing Operations Engineers to align culture and objectives, reviewing the health and maturity of the Continuous Improvement System, and providing coaching and guidance to Integrated Performance Teams (IPT) and Performance Management Teams (PMT). The manager will develop a standardized strategy for the F35 line of business, lead initiatives focused on HPU reduction, lean manufacturing, and Operations Excellence, and maintain the health of the continuous improvement framework. The position also includes managing the Kaizen Promotion office and consolidating Risk & Opportunity management across major build team units.

Requirements

  • Proven leader of a multi-functional team.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Project/Program management with strong organizational skills.
  • Experienced in process development and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in design and management of continuous improvement frameworks or systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the Continuous Improvement Framework strategy, planning, and execution across F35 Fab and Assembly.
  • Review the health and maturity of the F35 Continuous Improvement System.
  • Set up recognition events and work on improvement initiatives.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to Integrated Performance Teams (IPT) and Performance Management Teams (PMT).
  • Develop a standardized strategy and continuous improvement review for the F35 line of business.
  • Lead a team of Operations Engineers focused on HPU reduction, SRR reduction, lean manufacturing, and Operations Excellence.
  • Drive a focus on preventative problem resolutions.
  • Lead the Continuous Improvement Roadmap and project identification.
  • Coach and develop PMT's/IPT's/OBEYA and policy deployment.
  • Maintain the health of the continuous improvement framework.
  • Align year-end strategy deployment processes to achieve breakthrough objectives.
  • Manage the Kaizen Promotion office activity and development of talent through training.
  • Consolidate Risk & Opportunity management across major build team units.
  • Lead and influence teams across multiple locations.
  • Communicate effectively and operate autonomously.
