This strategic expansion enhances our ability to deliver exceptional project execution and knowledge-driven operational models by seamlessly integrating the upstream cultures of Asia, Europe, and America.   Explore opportunities to be part of our dynamic team and contribute to groundbreaking projects that redefine the offshore industry.   Position Overview:   The Operations Engineer will act as a vital link between the Operations & Maintenance Head Office, HQ in Seoul, and the Okpo Shipyard, supporting the organizational business transformation from an EPC to an EPCIO model. This position will provide support during the tender process by reviewing technical and operational requirements, ensuring alignment with O&M considerations, and liaising across departments to capture risks, opportunities, and lifecycle impacts. This role will contribute to the development of the Operations & Maintenance framework and actively support key initiatives aligned with Hanwha Ocean’s strategy, reinforcing long-term operational excellence, digitalization, HSE, and asset integrity objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of offshore projects & operations experience.
  • Basic knowledge in offshore production systems, FPSO/FLNG process operations, and relevant classification society and international regulatory requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with multicultural teams.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Proposals Support: Assist in reviewing tender documentation to help identify operational and maintenance requirements. Support O&M functions in preparing technical inputs and operational considerations for tender submissions. Provide assistance in drafting responses to client clarifications under guidance from O&M functions. Contribute to gathering data on risks, opportunities, and lifecycle impacts for evaluation by the team. Support the integration of HSE, asset integrity, and digitalization aspects by collecting and organizing relevant inputs. Assist in coordinating communication between the O&M Head Office, HQ in Seoul, and shipyard teams during the tender stage.
  • Operations Management System: Assist in the preparation and documentation of O&M governance frameworks, procedures, and standards. Support data collection, benchmark research, and coordination with multiple departments to ensure alignment of operational standards with the EPC phase and asset lifecycle guidelines. Help organize and coordinate workshops, meetings, and review sessions related to O&M framework development. Contribute to gathering internal and external best practices to support continuous improvement initiatives. Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of operational performance indicators (KPIs). Support the integration of HSE, asset integrity, and digitalization considerations into governance processes through data collection and coordination.
  • Budget and Resource Management Assist in gathering and organizing vendor / market data to support the preparation of O&M budgets and cost estimates. Assist in preparing reports, summaries, and presentations related to operational costs and budgeting. Assist in preparing business cases by consolidating technical and commercial inputs, supporting the evaluation of initiatives and alignment with the O&M framework.
  • Training & Development: Continuously learn and develop knowledge of FPSO operations, systems, and processes under the guidance of senior staff. Share and replicate operational knowledge within the local environment and with nearby departments to support team development. Promote an operational mindset by encouraging best practices, adherence to procedures, and practical application of lessons learned. Actively contribute to building a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the O&M organization. Develop towards becoming a fully integrated Operations Engineer within the O&M team, contributing to long-term operational excellence.
