As a Director of Operations in one of Walmart’s Fulfillment Centers, you will lead end‑to-end operational performance across inbound, outbound, and inventory functions. You’ll oversee multiple shifts, partner closely with Senior Operations Managers, and ensure our customers receive fast, accurate, high‑quality service every time they shop with us. What You’ll Do Lead Outbound Operations (Pick, Pack & Ship)- Oversee outbound operations across all shifts. Ensure order accuracy through strong quality control processes. Develop and implement best practices for picking, packing, shipping, and product distribution. Lead outbound activities in nonsortable or manual‑sortable fulfillment environments. Lead Inbound Operations (Unload, Receive, Haul & Stock)- Oversee inbound activities across all shifts. Ensure accurate unloading, receiving, and stocking of merchandise. Work with ICQA teams to maintain appropriate inventory levels. Develop standardized processes for inventory receiving and storage. Monitor Performance & Deliver Results- Manage operational performance across inbound and outbound areas. Own the fulfillment center’s P&L and deliver against financial targets. Set and track KPIs, budgets, and labor plans. Review performance dashboards and provide actionable feedback. Ensure proper staffing and resource allocation across all shifts. Build standards for organized, efficient storage and product flow. Drive Process Improvement- Identify and analyze areas for operational efficiency. Lead Lean process improvements across the fulfillment center. Provide training and coaching on new processes and continuous improvement. Oversee implementation of enhancements that elevate safety, quality, and speed. Ensure Compliance & Operational Excellence- Maintain compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards. Drive fulfillment center strategy to meet or exceed key performance targets. Support consistent quality, safety, and regulatory practices. Collaborate Across the Business- Partner with Senior Operations Managers and cross-functional teams, including: Fulfillment Engineering Supply Chain Management Transportation Operations HR Maintenance ICQA Support network-wide initiatives that improve capacity, cost, and delivery speed. Develop and Grow Talent- Provide coaching and mentorship to Senior Operations Managers and associates. Support talent development, succession planning, and workforce engagement. Build diverse, high-performing teams. Foster a culture of empowerment, accountability, and belonging.
