About The Position

The Memphis Grizzlies are seeking dependable employees that are curious about how our arena is set up for the events presented at the FedExForum. This is an excellent chance to work as a cohesive team and to observe the magic that goes into producing an event. All team members receive training as we offer a range of diverse events for our arena, including basketball games, comedy shows, concerts, and numerous business events. You get to take part in the performance! This is the position for you if you are a go-getter, enjoy working with your hands, and are interested in learning about conversions of the arena from show to show.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Six months of related experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work on multi-tasks constantly
Able to meet tight deadlines and work effectively
Dynamic, hard-working, confident
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Must work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Follow attendance guidelines and consistently be accessible for work
Ability to drive a forklift and other lift equipment as required

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of sports and entertainment, specifically NBA basketball.

Responsibilities

Participate in the set-up, execution, and break-down of FedExForum, Grizzlies, and Tigers home games and non-basketball events
Work with both manual and power tools to dismantle and assemble stage and court equipment
Layout chairs and equipment as needed for various events
Operate miscellaneous equipment safely
Perform manual labor that requires heavy lifting
Adapt to last-minute operational changes
Ensure that directives are understood, and appropriate action is taken to meet and exceed expectations
Supports difficult overnight conversions and allows for shift flexibility to accomodate additional schedule adjustments and event changes
Work cohesively and positively within a flexible, customer-service-oriented team
Must be able to work quickly, under pressure, and in situations where time is of the essence
Inform the supervisor immediately of any abnormalities, discrepancies, damage, loss of property, and safety issues
Comply with all OSHA and safety codes as well as applicable building codes as required
Other duties as assigned
