Voted Glassdoor's Employee Choice Awards- Best Places to Work, This is R/A !Job Summary Join the Compass team as the on‑site Operations Controller supporting financial operations for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) campus—including a high‑volume catering unit, restaurant, wine bar, and pantry (four total outlets). The Operations Controller works Monday–Friday on-site, daytime hours, and plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong cash controls, and seamless on‑site operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong experience in revenue control, financial reporting, and cash handling.
  • Foodservice or retail accounting experience required; multi‑outlet foodservice strongly preferred.
  • Ability to prepare financial statements, KPI reporting, budgets, forecasts, and cash‑flow analysis.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage complex workflows.
  • Experience with POS systems, cash reporting, and credit card reconciliation.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • High integrity, professionalism, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced cultural environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all cash‑handling procedures, deposits, and armored‑car pickups for four revenue‑generating outlets.
  • Manage daily, monthly, and annual accounting processes for a high‑volume foodservice operation.
  • Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts; ensure GL accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and interpret P&L statements, monthly financial packages, and performance analyses.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial projections; identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies or reconciliation issues.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages; support internal audits.
  • Maintain inventory systems, cost‑control processes, and financial procedures across all outlets.
  • Administer payroll and support HR tasks for on‑site teams.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and/or Regional Controller on financial strategy and operations.
  • Assist with special projects and ongoing operational improvements.
