About The Position

The position involves assisting in the planning and directing all activities related to the controlled substance (CS) cage/vault, including receiving, shipping, customer returns, accurate inventory management, and administrative functions. The role requires ensuring the efficient organization and layout of the DEA cage area by optimizing processes for receiving, picking, packing, and shipping customer orders while maintaining compliance with all governmental agencies and their regulations. The individual will serve as the primary point of contact for all inquiries regarding the receiving, shipping, and warehousing of controlled substances, working closely with internal partners such as Sales, Regulatory and Quality Affairs, and Purchasing. The position also involves reviewing current or future trends that indicate possible gaps in CS processes and making recommendations based on findings. Additionally, the role includes conducting weekly status meetings with the management team to review performance and develop action plans, supervising the controlled substance team, and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the planning and directs all activities including receiving, shipping, customer returns, accurate inventory management and administrative functions within the controlled substance (CS) cage/vault.
  • Ensures the efficient organization and layout of the DEA cage area by optimizing processes for receiving, picking, packing, and shipping customer orders while maintaining compliance with all governmental agencies and their regulations.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for all inquiries regarding the receiving, shipping and warehousing of controlled substances.
  • Works with internal partners (Sales, Regulatory and Quality Affairs, Purchasing) to resolve outstanding issues in a timely manner.
  • Pro-actively communicates issues to appropriate individuals including Customers, Sales, Purchasing, and Distribution Center Management.
  • Reviews current or future trends that indicate possible gaps in CS processes and makes recommendations based on findings.
  • Conducts weekly status meetings with management team to review performance and develop action plans.
  • Supervises the controlled substance team, including performance management, attendance management, training, employee engagement and retention, and employee development.
  • Ensures standard operating procedures pertaining to the receiving, shipping and warehousing of controlled substances are followed at all times.
  • Maintains documentation in compliance with all state and federal rules and regulations as well as all company policies.
  • Manages customer returns and recalls for the CS network including receipt, documentation, disposition and timely usage of reverse logistics solutions.
  • Maintains an audit-ready DEA cage and facilitates successful audits alongside the management team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
