The Operations Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing and coordinating assigned flight-following activities globally. This includes monitoring and flight-following multiple aircraft during flight operations, which encompasses departures, arrivals, intermediate stops, and diversions. The specialist files, updates, and monitors flight plans while tracking aircraft using satellite tracking position reports and/or by radio position reports. They also monitor aircraft positioned offshore or located at a non-Company base, dispatch and track Search and Rescue aircraft where applicable, and manage two-way communications via radio and satellite phone to maintain operational control of aircraft. Coordination with ATC as needed is also part of the role. The specialist assists aircrew in obtaining required clearances for landings and green decks at offshore facilities and communicates weather conditions to flight crews. They initiate Emergency Response Plan actions as required and report any discrepancies or issues promptly to the Shift Supervisor and/or the OCC Manager. Additionally, they record uploaded offshore fuel and maintain a tracking sheet of the provided information. Familiarity with the contents of the applicable sections of the Operations Manual, Operations Control Center Manual, and the Emergency Response Plan is necessary, along with performing other duties as assigned.
