How Will You Make an Impact? As an Operations Configuration Specialist I at our St. Petersburg, FL facility, you will support campus workcells by managing and coordinating product documentation and engineering change activities required before manufacturing can begin. You will serve as a key liaison between customers and internal teams, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely implementation of engineering changes. Your attention to detail and documentation expertise will directly support manufacturing readiness and execution. Location: On‑site at our St. Petersburg, FL facility.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must meet ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) requirements, as this role may involve access to export‑controlled information.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to review documentation and make sound decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required), Word, PowerPoint, and email.
- Strong analytical and multitasking skills with limited supervision.
- Ability to perform basic math functions.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience reviewing and maintaining controlled documents or records.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with document control, record review, or configuration management preferred.
Responsibilities
- Process and review customer documentation; resolve unclear or conflicting information.
- Analyze new BOMs and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for completeness prior to ECN creation.
- Verify drawings are attached to ECOs and ensure drawing revisions align with BOM revisions.
- Post approved documentation to Jabil systems as required.
- Generate internal documentation (e.g., cover sheets, BOM comparisons, summarized changes).
- Initiate and manage ECN forms, detailing additions, deletions, and changes.
- Coordinate with Planning and Purchasing to confirm effectivity dates, revision status, BOM changes, and rework instructions.
- Communicate changes to cross‑functional teams and obtain required approvals.
- Notify customers of ECO implementation status.
- Maintain accurate revision status tracking.
- Archive historical documentation including obsolete BOMs, drawings, visuals, setup sheets, and process flows.
- Identify inaccuracies in customer BOMs or Approved Vendor Lists (AVL); obtain written customer approval for corrections.
- Escalate unresolved issues to Planning Management and Project Management as needed.
- Provide daily documentation support to manufacturing teams.
- Ensure all documentation—electronic and hard copy—is current, accurate, and accessible.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations.
- Comply with all procedures within the company security policy.
