About The Position

The Operations Communications Specialist at Chemours plays a critical role in managing communications for multiple manufacturing and remediation sites. This position is responsible for leading regional reputation management, media relations, crisis communications, community engagement, and internal communications. The specialist will serve as a strategic advisor to site leadership, develop communication plans for key initiatives, and manage communications budgets while fostering relationships with local media and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications or related field.
  • 7+ years of broad communications experience across various disciplines including media relations and crisis communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel between assigned sites as needed.
  • Experience in issues communications, including message and strategy development.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the external and internal communication strategy for assigned manufacturing sites.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to site leadership and business manufacturing leadership, providing counsel on communications.
  • Support the integration of communication from multiple sources into a unified approach for manufacturing employees.
  • Develop and implement communications plans for critical initiatives such as site improvement projects and emissions control.
  • Support communications for crisis/issues, maintaining an up-to-date response plan and monitoring during events.
  • Manage regional or site-level communications budgets and allocate funds to programs with the best ROI.
  • Provide direction to consultants and external agency support for strategic initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local media partners and support message creation.
  • Identify and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in local communities.
  • Lead and support community outreach initiatives related to the company's philanthropic and STEM programs.
