The Semi Mechatronics Products (SMP) group produces critical mechatronics and Equipment Intelligence® products that support Lam’s advanced semiconductor solutions. Located in Fremont, CA, SMP accelerates new product introductions, drives manufacturing innovation, and supports global production transfers. As part of Global Product Engineering’s Mechatronics group, SMP delivers quality, cost efficiency, and scalable growth through operational excellence.
Join Lam as a Business Operations Analyst and play a key role in improving the effectiveness and efficiency of SMP. You will use data-driven analytical methods to guide decision-making, identify root causes, and eliminate operational issues. Leveraging strong systems knowledge and business process expertise, you will analyze data, develop meaningful metrics, and drive continuous improvement. By leading cross‑functional initiatives and clearly communicating progress, you will help embed best practices and advance operational excellence at Lam

Requirements

• Minimum of 15 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 12 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 8 years experience; or equivalent experience.

• Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive operational performance for Semi Mechatronics Products by defining, measuring, and publishing core KPIs that ensure demand is met on time while optimizing efficiency, capacity, and output.
• Lead cross‑functional operational execution, acting on behalf of the General Manager to align engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and finance teams around priorities and corrective actions.
• Identify performance gaps through structured gap analysis across systems, processes, and workflows, and translate findings into clear, actionable improvement plans.
• Assess operational risks and forecast outcomes, proactively identifying constraints, tradeoffs, and mitigation strategies to protect cost, quality, delivery, and growth objectives.
• Deliver data‑driven, prescriptive recommendations to leadership, enabling timely decisions and driving accountability for execution.
• Standardize and improve operational processes, identifying non‑standard work instructions, process breakdowns, and best‑practice gaps across local and global operations.
• Drive and sustain process change by coordinating cross‑functional teams, tracking progress, and ensuring adoption of agreed-upon solutions.
• Ensure compliance with analytics, reporting, and data governance standards, maintaining consistency, accuracy, and credibility of operational insights.
