About the position

Kayne Anderson Rudnick Investment Management in Century City is seeking a highly motivated, organized, committed individual with strong initiative and excellent communication skills for the role of Operations Associate. Kayne Investment Operations Department is responsible for the oversight of middle and back-office processing activities. With the exception of proxy voting, collateral management, and support of CRD Investment Book of Records (IBOR), most operations activities are outsourced to SS&C Technologies. Quality control is maintained through a written 'runbook' of procedures and guidelines, as well as through monitoring of daily control reports and service-level agreement metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Senior Associates and Director of Operations to Support Investment Operations.
  • Review controls and enforce SLAs of 3rd back-office vendor.
  • Provide operational services to clients and internal constituents.
  • Oversee functions such as data integrity, trade settlement, investment accounting/reconciliations, proxy voting, corporate actions, monthly performance review.
  • Support and maintain Charles River (OMS) IBOR accuracy.
  • Provide timely and accurate client statements reports on an ad hoc, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Monitor technology vendors, connectivity with data sources, and assist with trouble shooting daily issues in various applications such as SalesForce (CRM), ISS Governance (Proxy), GWP (Accounting System/Data hub), GWPA (Performance), Pages (Client Statements Reporting), etc.
  • Being aware of technology needs and requirements to support ongoing regulatory and business environment changes (e.g., CSDR Regulation, North America T+1 shortened settlements cycle, SEC rulings on proxy, etc.)
  • Ensure internal processes and procedures holistically support all business segments (institutional, dual contract, wealth advisory, and wrap).
  • Onboard client accounts by reviewing and executing items associated with account setup, custodian, market openings for global accounts, client statement reporting, reconciliations, etc.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years in investment operations capacity of a global investment strategies.
  • Excellent understanding of OMS investment book of record (IBOR).
  • Aptitude to manage 3rd party vendor providing critical daily processing and systems.
  • Strong business judgment with the ability to work well with in cross functional teams.
  • Experience with trade operations, client statements, and investment accounting.
  • Flexible, e.g., ability to adjust schedule to be available for meetings in global time zones as needed.
  • Proficient at Microsoft suite - Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams.
  • Drive process improvements, standardization, and automation.
  • Critical thinker and makes sound judgement under uncertainty.
  • Work well with all levels of employees effectively.
  • Contribute thoughtfully and produce high-quality work.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communications skills.
