About The Position

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, is looking for a Part Time Operations Associate to join our team in Springfield, MA. This position is part-time, working the 3rd shift from 7pm to 7:30am, totaling 24 hours per week with rotating days, every other weekend, and rotating holidays required. The role is located at the Baystate Main Campus in the Children and Adolescent Unit.

Requirements

• Prior administrative experience strongly preferred.
• 1-2 years' experience in customer service, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to work rotating days, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to multitask.
• Computer literate.
• Experience with electronic health records is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Tracks, prioritizes and assigns beds, communicates with BMD and BM for admissions, discharges and transfers (ADTs).
• Proficiently and accurately utilizes various computer applications in daily work.
• Participates in unit specific projects such as Payroll and committee participation.
• Provides report/handoff to next shift including pending discharges and admissions in process.
• Serves as a unit-based resource for Zoned Hospitalist and medical/surgical teaching teams.
• Functions as a greeter for the arrival of new patients/families to the unit/department.
• Maintains patient chart in proper sequence and prepares records prior to transfer and discharge.
• Prepares staffing assignments for the next shift and communicates staffing and scheduling to Clinical Supervisor.
• Inventories, maintains and charges supplies, initiates requisitions and requests accurately.
• Initiates emergency procedures as needed/directed within unit/department.
