This Internship position is responsible for conducting accurate yield testing, building cost-to-produce, and learning all aspects of supervising various harvest and/or production lines. Additional responsibilities would include supporting technical components of beef carcass merchandising and meat engineering relative to the carcass composition yield enhancement and gross margin improvement. This position will work under an experienced supervisor to gain the necessary training to lead teams of people to produce a high quality, safe product that meets customer specifications. This position will work cross functionally with operation support departments such as Human Resources, Accounting, Maintenance, FSQA, Sales, and may to work various shifts in order to learn additional facets of the operations and maintenance. Other duties include ensuring that all product quality and safety processes are being followed promoting a safe work environment and performing other responsibilities as assigned. These positions will be assigned to various Beef plant locations. This position is slated for candidates who are currently local to one of Tyson Foods Beef Plants. Priority consideration will be provided to these applicants first. If local candidates are not selected, candidates from other areas will then be reviewed for consideration. Housing will be provided for any chosen candidate that is located outside of a 50-mile radius. This is a summer internship and will require approximately 40 working hours per week in-person at the Beef Plant that you are assigned to.
