About The Position

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, is looking for a Part Time Operations Associate/Cardiac Monitor Technician to join our team in Springfield, MA. This position is part-time, requiring 24 hours per week on the 3rd shift, specifically from 7pm to 7:30am, with 2 shifts per week and rotating days and weekends required. The role involves working at the Baystate Main Campus in Springfield, MA, specifically in the Springfield 3 Unit.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years experience in customer service, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Medical administrative experience strongly preferred.
• Prior EKG training is a huge plus.
• Ability to work rotating days, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to multitask.
• Computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Tracks, prioritizes, and assigns beds; communicates with BMD and BM for admissions, discharges, and transfers (ADTs).
• Proficiently and accurately utilizes various computer applications in daily work.
• Handles unit-specific projects such as payroll, committee participation, and developing unit time schedules.
• Provides report/handoff to the next shift including pending discharges, admissions in process, and bed statuses.
• Acts as a unit-based resource for Zoned Hospitalist and medical/surgical teaching teams.
• Maintains patient charts in proper sequence and prepares records prior to transfer and discharge.
• Functions as a greeter for new patients/families to the unit/department.
• Initiates requisitions and requests for supplies accurately and in a timely fashion.
• Observes cardiac monitors and identifies irregular rhythms to report to a registered nurse.
• Demonstrates competency for one-to-one observation of patients.
