About The Position

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, is looking for a Part Time Operations Associate/Cardiac Monitor Technician to join our team in Springfield, MA. This position is part-time, requiring 24 hours per week on the first shift, with hours from 7am to 7:30pm, and involves rotating days and weekends. The role is based at the Baystate Main Campus in Springfield, MA.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years experience in customer service, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Medical administrative experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior EKG training is a huge plus.
  • Ability to work rotating days, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Computer literate.

Responsibilities

  • Tracks, prioritizes, and assigns beds; communicates with BMD and BM for admissions, discharges, and transfers (ADTs).
  • Proficiently and accurately utilizes various computer applications in daily work.
  • Handles unit-specific projects as assigned, such as payroll and developing unit time schedules.
  • Provides report/handoff to the next shift including pending discharges and admissions in process.
  • Serves as a unit-based resource for Zoned Hospitalist and medical/surgical teaching teams.
  • Maintains patient charts in proper sequence and prepares records prior to transfer and discharge.
  • Functions as a greeter for the arrival of new patients/families to the unit/department.
  • Maintains and charges supplies, initiates requisitions, and records or submits charges for patient supplies.
  • Observes cardiac monitors, identifies and reports irregular rhythms to a registered nurse.
  • Completes required dysrhythmia course (telemetry) and passes competency upon completion.
