About The Position

The Assistant Manager supports the daily operations of the park and works closely with the Manager to ensure a safe, efficient, and professional environment for guests and staff. This position provides direct supervision and support to front-line teams, assists with scheduling and training, and helps ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations. The Assistant Manager is a working leader who leads by example, maintains operational standards, and may serve as acting Manager during assigned periods.

Requirements

  • Clean and professional appearance appropriate for a public-facing role
  • Valid California Driver’s License with a minimum of three years of clean driving record
  • Availability to work weekends, evenings, overnights, and/or holidays as operationally required
  • Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler’s Card, maintained throughout employment
  • Agreement to and compliance with the Employee Handbook and company policies
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, rain, snow, ice, and wind
  • Ability to walk up to five miles or more per day over uneven terrain, including trails, paved and unpaved surfaces
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform physical tasks for extended periods of time as required to perform essential job functions
  • Capable swimmer preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Oversee various roles within the department, including the Facilities Crew, Food Service Crew, Lifeguards, and Park Rangers
  • Support the Manager in daily operations, scheduling, and workflow
  • Supervise staff performance during assigned shifts and provide clear direction in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Enforce workplace policies, safety standards, and company procedures consistent with applicable regulations
  • Provide ongoing training for front line staff with a strong emphasis on customer service and safety compliance
  • Anticipate and respond to guest or staff needs and requests across departments with a spirit of hospitality and excellence
  • Ensure trash, trails, restrooms, and fee collection are maintained with excellence, efficiency, and hospitality
  • Perform routine patrols of lake property, enforcing and collecting lake fees as assigned and authorized
  • Assist front line staff and ensure accuracy in counting, balancing, and verifying cash deposits in accordance with internal controls
  • Communicate operational issues, improvements, and updates to the Manager
  • Assist the Manager with inventory management, including merchandise and equipment
  • Coordinate mooring activities between guests and staff
  • Develop and adjust staff schedules, especially during inclement weather, based on operational needs and staffing requirements
  • Lead by example with professionalism, reliability, and accountability
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative work environment
  • Help motivate staff and maintain positive engagement
  • Provide constructive feedback and assist with corrective action when necessary, in coordination with management
  • Provide detailed reports of activities and incidents to upper management
  • Ensure adequate sanitary supplies are maintained in all locations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
