About The Position

The IRA and Qualified Plans Assistant Manager supports the daily operations, service quality, and regulatory compliance of the IRA/QP Support department. This role assists the Manager in leading team members, ensuring accurate processing of retirement account transactions, and providing guidance on IRA regulations, workflow best practices, and departmental procedures.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of IRA rules, tax implications, and retirement account procedures.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide clear instructions when explaining complex scenarios to associates.
  • Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills to effectively handle multiple demands while meeting deadlines.
  • Working knowledge in interpreting and applying financial industry rules and regulations.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in functionality, technology, or regulatory policies when necessary.
  • Sound decision making skills.
  • Effective delegation skills to ensure completion of work.
  • Ability to think strategically in order to provide departmental improvements.
  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum Required: 7+ years' experience in financial services industry
  • Minimum Required: FINRA Series 99 or Series 7, or ability to obtain Series 99 within 12 months upon hire.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and SQL

  • Minimum Preferred: BETA experience

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject-matter resource for team members, answering complex IRA inquiries and guiding decision-making.
  • Assist in the oversight of workloads and staffing needs.
  • Oversee the maintenance and implementation of department policies and procedures.
  • Aid in the creation and administration of department supervisory procedures to ensure appropriate controls are in place for their area of responsibility.
  • Maintain an understanding of the work being completed by associates and the status of various projects.
  • Streamline processes and improve overall operational efficiency.
  • Coach associates to strengthen accuracy, compliance, and productivity.
  • Collaborate with leadership on decision making within the department.
  • Support the Manager in daily workflow oversight and step in during their absence.
