About The Position

Ingles Markets is looking for an Operations and Technology Assistant for its Distribution Center located in Black Mountain, NC. The Operations & Technology Assistant plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day functionality and continuous improvement of the Distribution Center (DC). As part of the Operations Analyst team, the assistant will assist with projects, maintain operational systems, and ensure hardware and software tools are functioning effectively. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Basic understanding of shipping, receiving, and inventory processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable using technology and ability to learn new systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, but also independently.
  • Strong time management skills and self-motivated.
  • Will conduct a Criminal Background Check.
  • Must pass an E-Verify Screening.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing at a desk, working on a computer, or in a specified work area within the DC.
  • Ability to operate a computer and other various office equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
  • Occasional exposure to cold temperatures and ability to work for a limited time in colder environments.
  • Able to navigate each department in the organization's facilities.
  • Able to move throughout the distribution center.
  • Work hours may vary depending on project requirements or business needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Distribution center or warehouse experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with core distribution activities such as shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
  • Learn and support the systems and applications used within the DC operation.
  • Gain familiarity with hardware tools and equipment utilized in the distribution process.
  • Participate in project work aimed at improving DC functionality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Analyst team to maintain and enhance existing processes.
  • Provide input during decision-making discussions related to operational improvements.
  • Troubleshoot minor system or hardware issues and escalate as needed.
  • Collaborate with the IT department as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
  • Become certified on various DC equipment, as needed.
