About The Position

We are seeking an Operations and Policy Analyst 2 to join our Child Nutrition Program at the Oregon Department of Education. This is a permanent position represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). This position follows a hybrid work model. Onsite presence will be required when business or operational needs are best supported in person, such as collaboration, training, or work that requires access to onsite resources. Employees approved to work remotely must have a reliable and secure internet connection and maintain a professional work environment that supports productivity. While working remotely, employees are expected to maintain the same level of performance, responsiveness, communication, and availability as they would be in the office! Work with the Child Nutrition Program (CNP) Director and CNP team to refine, revise and/or create and implement systems and policies for CNP. In addition, work with the CNP Team to sustain CNP systems for effectiveness and plans or designs improvements in CNP operations. Also this position analyzes, develops and revises administrative procedures that support existing regulations and reviews program data. This position will manage elements of Program development, implementation and evaluation related to CNP. In this role, you will work alongside a fantastic team to help support the implementation and refinement of systems and policies, and design improvements of CNP operations. You will work with federal meal programs, as well as state programs, in supporting ODE’s guiding values of integrity, accountability, excellence, and equity

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and two years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.
  • Any combination of experience and education equivalent to five years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification

  • Knowledge of USDA/FNS and Oregon School and Community Nutrition Program regulations, procedures and policies
  • Knowledge of relational databases, and skills in writing queries and constructing data reports.
  • Demonstrated skills in MS Word, and skills in data analysis and developing pivot tables and graphs in Excel

Responsibilities

  • Develop policies related to Child Nutrition Programs (CNP)
  • Collect and disseminate information, and determine the appropriate action
  • Identify specific goals of assigned projects and implements plans
  • Partner with CNP management to guide decisions related to best practices, policy development, and procedures
