We are seeking a highly capable Operations and Maintenance Team Lead to oversee and coordinate the performance of four 24/7 Operations and Maintenance crews. This role integrates repair and maintenance engineering, field service execution, and frontline leadership to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of equipment and systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, operational discipline, and people leadership to drive performance and continuous improvement. Location: Aurora, CO

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience managing technical teams
  • Experience in maintenance, operations, or field service in complex technical environments (e.g., RF systems, satellite communications, large mechanical systems)
  • Experience with electromechanical systems, including motors, drives, control systems, and/or RF signal systems
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining large, complex equipment in a high-availability environment
  • Experience maintaining technical documentation, maintenance logs, and compliance records
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance with C.I. polygraph security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with large antenna systems, satellite ground stations, or radio astronomy facilities
  • Experience with RF systems, signal processing, and antenna calibration techniques
  • Experience working in remote or outdoor technical environments
  • Experience with predictive maintenance technologies (vibration analysis, thermography, condition monitoring)
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or reliability engineering certification
  • Experience managing statement-of-work (SOW) or contract-driven operations
  • Experience in government, research, aerospace, or defense-related operations

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct four rotating 24/7 Operations and Maintenance crews supporting distributed antennas and associated ground systems
  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate maintenance and operational activities across multiple assets, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum system availability
  • Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for large antenna structures, drive systems, RF signal chains, control electronics, and support systems
  • Respond to and manage system anomalies, equipment failures, and environmental impacts (e.g., weather-related issues) to restore operations quickly
  • Apply maintenance engineering principles to troubleshoot and repair complex electromechanical systems, including antenna positioning, calibration, and signal integrity
  • Ensure precise calibration and alignment of antennas and instrumentation to meet stringent operational and scientific or communication specifications
  • Maintain and analyze detailed maintenance and performance records to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for reliability improvements
  • Oversee field service activities, including installation, upgrades, modifications, and decommissioning of antenna systems and associated infrastructure
  • Act as the on-site technical liaison for internal stakeholders, customers, and external partners, ensuring alignment with operational requirements and service agreements
  • Manage logistics, spare parts, provisioning, and configuration control for critical system components
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures
  • Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and maintainability
  • Develop, mentor, and manage team members, including performance management, training, and succession planning
