About The Position

The Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Technician at our OSHA Star Facility plays a pivotal role in maintaining safety and efficiency in our combined cycle power plant. This position involves completing daily tasks, operating and maintaining equipment, and conducting outage-related maintenance to ensure cost-effective facility operations. O&M Technicians adhere to state and federal safety and environmental regulations, contributing to a sustainable energy future.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in machinery operations and/or maintenance, with a fundamental knowledge of CCGT power plant and/or water process operations, including roles and duties
  • Proven mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work constructively with minimum supervision
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts on weekends, be on call, accept callouts, and work overtime
  • Basic PC skills for information processing and management
  • General knowledge of safety and environmental regulations
  • Ability to operate a forklift and man-lifts as needed
  • A valid Grade 1 Massachusetts Wastewater license is preferred
  • Minimum High School diploma, trade school, military service, or technical training is required
  • A minimum of a Massachusetts 2nd-class Fireman's license is required
  • A valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Maintain shift operating logs and records
  • Operate and monitor plant equipment and systems
  • Conduct regular equipment rounds, including critical instrument readings, and promptly report abnormal conditions to the appropriate personnel
  • Provide support for mechanical maintenance tasks, inspections, and troubleshooting as assigned
  • Assist in developing standard operating procedures as required
  • Adhere to safe working practices, identify hazards, and take corrective actions approved by management
  • Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management system to document plant deficiencies, schedule work, and order materials
  • Complete mandatory plant training and contribute to the training of other team members
  • Conduct routine cycle chemistry testing and make necessary adjustments to operate within established facility operating parameters
  • Safely handle, unload, and transfer bulk chemicals, while also collecting samples for analysis and testing
  • Maintain plant housekeeping standards and ensure security protocols are followed
  • Respond to abnormal operating situations in a safe and environmentally conscious manner
  • Be prepared to perform additional duties as assigned by plant management
